Dr. Hong’s experience encompasses a wide variety of biotechnology disciplines, including:

Background and Credentials

In addition to prosecuting patent applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Dr. Hong has extensive experience prosecuting foreign applications.  Dr. Hong also has experience in preparing a variety of legal opinions, addressing issues such as patentability, inventorship, and the infringement, validity, and enforceability of patents.   She also has participated in patent interference proceedings before the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences.

Previously, Dr. Hong was a patent agent with another intellectual property firm based in Chicago.   Prior to that experience, Dr. Hong worked as a graduate research assistant at Purdue University.  In four years, she successfully completed her graduate studies and received a Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular biology.  She received her B.S. in chemistry with an emphasis in biochemistry from Loyola University Chicago in 1997.
