Marshall Gerstein Announces Matt Carey as Electrical & Computer Technologies Practice Group Chair

Marshall, Gerstein & Borun LLP is pleased to announce that Partner Matt Carey has been named as chair of the firm’s Electrical & Computer Technologies Practice Group, which handles matters involving the most sophisticated technologies developed and refined by corporations and leading research universities. Matt will manage an interdisciplinary team of attorneys and professionals with extensive knowledge of software, artificial intelligence, process controls, e-commerce, telecommunications, semiconductors, and related technologies. He succeeds Randall Rueth, who successfully led the team for over a decade and remains a partner in the Practice Group.

Matt is a partner in the firm’s Chicago office. He is a registered patent attorney who leverages dual proficiency in patent law and technology to deliver strategic IP guidance to clients ranging from lean startups to elite universities and Fortune 500 stalwarts. His legal experience spans domestic and overseas patent prosecution across electrical and software disciplines. He also serves on several firm committees, including the Recruiting Committee, the  Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee, and the Marketing & Business Development Committee.
