Marshall Gerstein Gives: Urban Growers Collective

Marshall Gerstein Gives (MG²) is supporting Urban Growers Collective’s efforts to build community-based food systems in the Chicago area via urban farming.

Urban Growers Collective (UGC) works closely with community partners to demonstrate the development and benefits of community-based food systems. With eight urban farms, mostly located on Chicago’s South Side, farm operations are production-oriented and offer opportunities for staff-led education, training, and leadership development. UGC works to create economic opportunity for urban growers and makers; mitigate food insecurity; and increase access to high quality, affordable, culturally affirming, and nutritionally dense food.
